About SMHEA

We are a Christian-led organization that supports and encourages the homeschooling community of the East Tennessee Smoky Mountain region. Participation is open to anyone interested in supporting and protecting the God-given right to home education.​

We serve an 18-county region in East Tennessee, including Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Cumberland, Fentress, Grainger, Hamblen, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Morgan, Pickett, Roane, Scott, Sevier, and Union counties. We strive to provide a connection between THEA at the state level and support groups, co-ops, umbrella schools, and individual home educators at the local level.​
