Three Level Support
The Smoky Mountain Home Education Association (SMHEA) is a Christian led organization serving homeschooling families in eighteen East Tennessee counties   including and surrounding Knoxville and Knox County. Affiliated with the Tennessee Home Education Association (THEA), membership in SMHEA includes THEA membership and access to state, regional, and local homeschooling resources. East Tennessee is a great place to homeschool. Endowed with natural wonders including the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and rich with historical sites, this area provides homeschoolers with plenty of opportunities for enriched education. Our growing home education community provides many support groups and cooperatives, sports teams, an annual Home Educators Conference, a graduation exercise, and many other activities. As you explore this site, you'll find the vital information and resources you need to begin or sustain your homeschool adventure.
