  1. Board Members - Lead the organization in serving homeschoolers now and into the future.

  2. Community Engagement – Spearheads the development and maintenance of County Ambassadors, events or activities that can engage our entire region, and collaborates with the activities director to maximize benefits to our region.

  3. Communications – manages a SMHEA newsletter/update, annual reporting to region, coordinates with social media on messages and opportunities, develops succinct and impactful messaging to share with our stakeholders.

  4. Capital Day – The Chairman of this committee will report to the administrative board a plan, a budget, marketing strategy, and follow-up.

  5. Member Benefits – This committee will have a chairman that will report to the Board. This committee will support the membership director, work with homeschooler supporting vendors, and create benefits for our members, this is an ongoing committee.

  6. Fundraising and Grants Committee

  7. Graduation Coordinator and Committee: This committee will run the SMHEA graduation in late May/Early June.  The Chairman will report to the Board a plan, a budget, marketing, and a follow-up for this event. 

  8. Career Fair:  Non-Traditional Career Fair.  The Chairman will report to the Board a plan, a budget, marketing, and follow-up for this event.

  9. Coop Shop and Resource Fair – possibly grow into an expo. This event takes place in late February each year.  The Chairman will report to the administrative board a plan, a budget, marketing, and follow-up for this event.

  10. Social Media Marketing Committee - YouTube/Tumbler Channel:

The possibilities are endless - if you have an interest - reach out!!

  1. Kids Marketplace – Young Entrepreneur Fair – This event takes place in November of each year. Chairman will report to the Board a plan, a budget, marketing, and follow-up for this event.  * Possibly add a speech competition to this?  *Could possibly add a Young Entrepreneur Academy that finishes their “pitch” at this event.

  2. Dad’s events - Dad’s Shoot-out – An event that takes place in August each year as a way to get Dad’s involved in homeschooling.  A day of Encouragement to Dad’s.  The Chairman reports to the administrative board a plan, budget, marketing, a follow-up for this event.

  3. Book Club – This is an ongoing committee that hosts a book club once a month discussing a book on homeschooling/parenting/moms.  The Chairman of this committee will report to the administrative board a plan for the year, budget, marketing, and ongoing follow-up for each event.

  4. Mom’s Retreat – An event that takes place in April of each year. The chairman of this committee will report to the administrative board a plan, a budget, marketing strategy, and follow-up.

  5. Legislative Update/Fundraising Dinner – December event.  The Chairman of this committee will report to the administrative board a plan, a budget, marketing strategy, and follow-up.

  6. Kick-Off the School Year Cookout – This event in September.  The Chairman of this committee will report to the administrative Board a plan, a budget, marketing strategy, and follow-up.

  7. College Fair – This event takes place in October.  The Chairman of this committee will report to the administrative board a plan, a budget, marketing strategy, and follow-up.

  8. Field Trip Organizer – The Chairman of this committee will report to the administrative board a plan, budget, marketing strategy, and follow-up.
